About Allison

What inspired you to ride?

Both my older sisters had been cyclists, so I was pretty familiar with the cycling community and sport. I loved to be outside and loved the speed of having wheels underneath me.

Racing obstacle you overcame?

In the months leading up to Rio, I suffered an injury to my shoulder area that might have jeopardized my ability to ride in the summer Olympics. While I was not able to rectify the damage, which eventually required surgery, I was able to manage my training and remain tough mentally and physically.

Favorite cheat meal?

Burger and fries.

Favorite healthy meal or snack?

Smoothies. My latest creation is spinach, cherry/berry mix, almond butter, almond milk and plain yogurt.

Tip for staying healthy?

Get outside and everything in moderation.

What motivates you to ride?

I love to see the world on my bike. Racing has always been a big part of my life and motivates me to be the best I can be at any given moment. I also enjoy the strategy of racing and the opportunity to ride in remarkable locations.
