About Gavin
What inspired you to ride?
My Dad. I grew up at bike races in New England so I think initially when I started riding and racing I was trying to be like my Dad.
Racing obstacle you overcame?
Being a slow developer. Starting from a young age I was pretty much always the smallest kid at junior bike races and always pushed myself to ride with older and stronger riders. My mind was always a few steps ahead of my body and that’s something that definitely held me back a few times.
Favorite cheat meal?
Burgers and fries. And ice cream of course. It’s a winning combo that can’t really be matched.
Favorite healthy meal or snack?
Avocado toast and eggs. Maybe not the lightest things but they’re healthy fats, right?
Tip for staying healthy?
Eat your colors and exercise. Gummy bears while delicious don’t count.
What motivates you to ride?
It’s hard to have that bad of a day if you get out for a ride. You can have bad training sessions for sure but it’s really pretty difficult to not enjoy a bike ride. I don’t need much motivation to get out and ride. Getting out and doing Vo2 efforts is a different story.
